Paavo Tonteri Joins Double R Racing as F4 Testing Gets Underway

Finnish kart star Paavo Tonteri will step up to single-seaters this year with the Double R Racing team. One day after teammate Sebastian Alvarez was confirmed, Tonteri will join him for a campaign in the F4 British Championship.

Speaking of British F4, testing was back underway today, with the Finn one of the thirteen men on track at Donington Park today.

Prior to 2018, Tonteri had achieved great success in karting, winning the KF Class of the Finnish Karting Championship in 2014 a year after claiming the Northern European KF3 Karting championship. Like Alvarez, he was also a regular in the CIK-FIA World Karting Championship.

He secured his fourth karting crown in five years in 2016 when he won the respectable German Karting Championship, also managing runner-up in the Finnish OK Class.

He is also a member of Infinity Sports Management, with Double R expanding their line-up.

Also testing with the team today was Keirn Jewiss, with the Ginetta Junior driver topping the times in the first outing at Brands Hatch Indy. He continued his strong run and looks the likeliest option for the third seat. Should he be successful, early pace would see him become a championship favourite.
