MotoE: Line-Up for Second MotoE Season Announced

The rider line-up for the 2020 MotoE World Cup has been announced.

For 2020, we introduce some new faces to the MotoE World Cup, the electric championship that made its debut throughout the 2019 season.

The winner of the inaugural championship was Matteo Ferrari (Trentino Gresini MotoE) who remains in the series as the Italian looks to defend his crown.

Both Bradley Smith (One Energy Racing) and Eric Granado (Avintia Esponsorama Racing) came close to pinching the 2019 title, the pair will both line up on the grid for 2020.

Ahead of the 2020 season, it was announced that Sete Gibernau would once again retire from Motorcycle racing, it was also announced that Randy De Puniet would not take part in the 2020 MotoE series as the Frenchman focus lies on the EWC.

For 2020 we’ve also lost Jesko Raffin and Hector Garzo, who have both landed rides in the 2020 Moto2 World Championship.

Lorenzo Savadori will also leave the grid as he returns to World Superbikes, a championship that the Italian has competed in since 2013.

Finally, we also say goodbye to Kenny Foray who, much like De Puniet, is also competing in the EWC.

For 2020, the MotoE World Championship gains Xavier Cardelus, Lukas Tulovic and Dominique Aegerter, all from the Moto2 World Championship, along with Tommaso Marcon and Alessandro Zaccone.

Finally, Jordi Torres announced he would take part in the E-Series as well as competing in World Superbikes.

2020 sees 18 riders representing 12 countries battle it out across some of Europes greatest Motorcycle circuits.

The championship will kick off in Jerez, round 4 of the MotoGP World Championship before heading to Assen for the second round of the Electric series.

Round 3 comes from Austria before two double-headers at Misano and Valencia wrap up the 2020 season.

Riders and teams will once again run Energica machines with Michelin tyres at five different circuits across the MotoGP calendar.
