WSBK: Marino replaces Jacobsen for remainder of 2018 at Triple M Honda

American World Superbike rider PJ Jacobsen has parted company with the Triple M Honda season and has been replaced by Florian Marino, following a difficult campaign in which the team couldn’t give PJ what he needed. The ex World Supersport race winner enjoyed a best result of 10th with them at the Chang International Circuit in Thailand but he failed to return to the top ten. He has also failed to score points with the bike since Brno.

Florian Marino has been in the World Superbike paddock for some time and he is highly rated. The Frenchman has taken six podiums in the National Superstock 1000 championship and has had World Supersport podiums too.

“Thanks to the Triple M Honda World Superbike Team for giving me the opportunity to compete in the WorldSBK championship this season. We tried hard, but unfortunately things didn’t work out as we had planned so we agreed to go our separate ways. I wish them all the best for the remainder of the season and the future,” said Jacobsen.

Team owner Matthias Moser stated, “I would like to say thank you to PJ for his professional attitude and his efforts to help us improving the bike this season. Unfortunately, it turned out that we were not able to give him what he needed to be competitive and so we decided to go our separate ways on amicable terms. I wish him all the best for the future”.

WSBK return to action at the all-new San Juan circuit in Argentina this coming weekend. It is the first time ever that WSBK has been to South America and it will be the first event at the circuit – which is still being refined to World Superbike level.
