MotoGP: Repsol Honda reveal the 2023 bike

Repsol Honda has launched the team’s 2023 bike in Madrid, with riders Marc Marquez and Joan Mir.

Repsol Honda has unveiled a new motorcycle for 2023, with Joan Mir joining the historic brand. Mir will have Marc Marquez joining him this season, who looks to be ready to race, after his surgery last season.

The team was recently testing at Sepang with Marquez finishing the three days of testing in 10^th position. Mir would finish the three days in 12^th, with both riders struggling to get comfortable on the motorcycle.

Marc Marquez will continue with the team that gave him his debut in the Premier class, in 2013. He finished 13^th In the Championship last season, after missing seven races last year to get a fifth surgery on his right arm. Marquez would return at the end of the season where he claimed his best result of second at Phillip Island.

Joan Mir will move from the factory Suzuki team in 2023, after the shock departure of Suzuki last year. He finished 15^th in the Championship last year, after a difficult season for the whole Suzuki team. The 2020 World Champion would claim the best result of fourth and would miss part of the season due to a broken ankle.

Marquez said: “The bike looks great again this year! I am really looking forward to riding in full Repsol Honda Team colours again at the Portugal Test. It’s great to be here with the whole Repsol family who have been with me and the team for such a long time.

“It will be an important test in Portimao, as we have some work to do, but the engineers have been working hard in Japan. I am eager to keep working and get this season started, I am feeling fit and ready to go racing.”

Joan Mir said: “It feels incredible to wear the full Repsol Honda Team colours for the first time and to show off the latest version of the Honda RC213V. It’s such an honour to join this iconic team and my focus is to deliver the best results possible, which is expected when you join a team such as this.

“We’ve made good progress already in Sepang and we still have time to prepare in Portugal, we keep working and we keep improving.”
