MotoE: Valencia Returns to the Calendar as Le Mans Axed

The MotoE World Cup is preparing for its second season on the World Stage, with Valencia once again hosting the season finale, after Le Mans was dropped from the five-round schedule.

Dorna bosses had previously announced a new calendar for the 2020 MotoE World Cup, visiting Jerez, Le Mans and Assen. Though it was announced today that Le Mans has been dropped from the 2020 calendar and replaced by Valencia, meaning that the MotoE World Cup will end it’s season at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo.

Valencia has been the traditional venue to host the MotoGP season finale, hosting the final round of the season since 2002.

The MotoE World Cup will start in May at the Circuito de Jerez before going on an eight-week break, returning at the Dutch TT in Assen.

From there, the MotoE field returns to familiar territory with races at Austria, and two double-headers at Misano and Valencia to complete the year.

The inaugural MotoE World Cup was decided at the final round of the season where Eric Granado and Bradley Smith went head to head for the race win, while Matteo Ferrari claimed the first-ever Electric Motorcycle World Championship by 11 points.

All MotoE competitors will again use identical Energica machines in 2020.
