Moto3: Andrea Migno to replace injured Lorenzo Fellon
Andrea Migno will replace the injured Lorenzo Fellon in the upcoming Moto3 races for the CIP Green Power team.
Andrea Migno will return to the Moto3 class in 2023, with an unexpected call to race for the CIP Green Power team. Migno will replace Lorenzo Fellon who dislocated his shoulder in the warm-up lap at Portimao.
Lorenzo Fellon will require surgery on his arm after suffering from a dislocated shoulder, which has been in going since last year. Fellon’s crash in the preseason test has increased the number of dislocations.
There is no time scale on when the Frenchman will be able to return to the CIP Green Power team. Until then Migno will replace Fellon with the CIP Green Power team stating he will stand in for the “upcoming races”.
Lorenzo Fellon enters his third consecutive season in the Moto3 class, as he moves to KTM this year. The 18-year-old raced for the SIC58 Squadra Corse team last season, finishing 25th in the standings.
Fellon joins the CIP Green Power team this season and will race onboard the KTM RC250GP. David Salvador will race with the Frenchman this season and finished 13th at the opening round in Portimao.
Migno will return to the Moto3 class, marking his 11th season racing in the Grand Prix category, after debuting for the GMT Racing team in 2013. The Italian has had great success in the Moto3 class, winning multiple Grand Prix’s.
Migno raced for the Rivacold Snipers Team last season and was replaced by the returning Romano Fenati this year. The 27-year-old finished ninth in the 2022 standings, with a race win at the opening round.
The team said: “CIP – Green Power officially announces that Andrea Migno will ride with the team in the upcoming races. The Italian rider will take part of the French company next week in Argentina. moreover, during his stay in the team, Migno will ride with #16 race number.
“Andrea Migno, 27 years old, is an experienced rider with 11 podiums, including two victories in his professional career. He will compete on the Moto3 class with CIP – Green Power only until Lorenzo Fellon is recovered and returns to the track. The team welcomes Migno and wishes him all the best!”
