Keith Farmer has passed away

The 35-year-old four time British Champion Keith Farmer has died.

Farmer was a man that many in the British Superbike paddock regarded as one of the nicest and most talented riders around.

Farmer was an incredibly successful rider in the British Superbike paddock. He picked up four British titles in three separate classes.

Farmer secured the Superstock 600 Championship in 2011 in his own team. For 2012 the ‘Clougher Bullet’ joined Paul Birds Superstock 1000 team, where he won his first Superstock 1000 title.

After racing in the British Superbike class Farmer moved to the British Supersport Championship with the Appleyard Macadam Yamaha Team in 2017. Farmer proved that he was an all round talented rider as he claimed his third British title and his first in the Supersport class.

2018 saw Farmer have back to back Championship success once again. This time back in the Superstock 1000 Championship with TAS Racing. This would be Farmers second Superstock 1000 Championship and his fourth and final British title success.

As well as his success in the Superstock and Supersport classes he also stood on the podium in the British Superbike class with PR Racing during his time in the Championship.

Last year Farmer announced that he would be retiring from racing bringing an end to a truly incredible career.

Throughout today there have been social media tributes flooding in about the devastating news:

Farmers brother, David, led the tribute following the tragic news. In a Facebook post he said: “I’m lost for words our little brother left us at 1.45 this morning with us all by his side. Life will never be the same again, he made us all so proud and he will be very sorely missed. Love you Meekie #33.”
