Harry Webb to Make British F3 Debut at Home Track

Having been forced to sit out the start of the season, Harry Webb will make his long overdue debut to the BRDC British F3 Championship this weekend with Chris Dittmann Racing.

Webb made an impact at the start of the season, topping the first practice session during a wet Media Day at Donington Park. This was made more impressive by the fact he hadn’t driven the car since the end of 2017 (amusingly, while at Snetterton.)

The 21-year-old made his single-seater debut last year, racing in the F4 British Championship, where he competed in the Ford F4 Challenge Cup. He collected four class wins, only to dramatically lose the title after a crash in the final race, handing the honour to Hampus Ericsson. Now stepping up to F3, Webb will join Chia Wing Hoong at the CDR outfit ahead of the Snetterton round.

Prior to single-seaters, he had been a successful national karter, picking up five titles in three years. Despite having missed the opening two rounds, the Norfolk racer will be determined to make himself a presence in the top ten on his return.

“I’m exceptionally pleased to be on the grid this weekend, I’ve been aiming to get out at Snetterton, my home track, and I can’t wait to get started,”

“I’ve been watching British F3 all this time and it’s been getting on my nerves not being out there, so it’s great to be finally getting some racing this weekend. When I have tested the car, I’ve always had good pace, so I’m really looking forward to seeing how we get on. I’m always pushing hard, and it would be a dream to get a podium at Snetterton.” said Webb.

Teammate Chia Wing Hoong has so far picked up one top ten finish during a turbulent start to the season for the Malaysian.

Team Principal Chris Dittmann commented: “We are really looking forward to seeing how Harry gets on at Snetterton this weekend. He’s shown so much potential in the limited testing we’ve had with him, and he could well spring a surprise or two on his home circuit. It should be an exciting weekend for the team, and we’re keen to get cracking.”

The BRDC British F3 will kick off on Saturday 26th May at Snetterton, supporting the British GT Championship.
