Formula E to Return to the UK after 4 Year Absence

The electric racing series, FIA Formula E, will return the United Kingdom for the first time since 2016. The new event will take place at the London Royal Docks.

It marks its return for the 2019/20 season, with a two day event on 25 and 26 July 2020, marking the end of the European season.

The circuit will take place around and through the London ExCel Centre, making it the first track to take place partially indoors. While much of the circuit circumnavigates the perimeter, the start line and opening corner complex will pass through the inside of the building, with the pitlane taking a shorter route, by hugging the shore line of the river Thames.

It won’t be the first new circuit on the map, with Seoul, South Korea having been confirmed last November.

Previous events have taken place at Battersea Park, though the event was halted due to protests from local residents.
