Ex-Sauber F1 boss Monisha Kaltenborn’s F4 team KDC Racing Goes Bust

Former Sauber Formula 1 CEO and Team Principal Monisha Kaltenborn’s new team KDC Racing, launched only months ago, has already gone bust after bankruptcy for its company director.

Motorsport Radio has learned that the Spanish based, Swiss registered KDC Racing team’s founder and sole company director, Emily Di Comberti, (known previously as Mr Jean-Patrick Guy Phillipe Mourenon) has recently been declared bankrupt in the UK and is thought to owe nearly £90,000 to Lanan Racing, whom son Aaron Di Comberti briefly raced for in BRDC British Formula 3 in 2017.

After having became the first full-time female Team Principal in Formula 1, and after leaving her role with Sauber in controversial circumstances last year, the FIA Women in Motorsport ambassador Monisha announced a comeback by jointly launching an Formula 4 team with Emily, becoming KDC Racing.

The team was received with much fanfare around the world as being pioneered by an all-female management earlier this year and begun racing in the Italian and German F4 Championships, with the aim of promoting young females, although it’s now believed that the team is thought to have ceased racing, having not entered the previous round of the German championship and the team’s remaining driver, Ilya Morozov, announced a switch to a new F4 Italian series team recently.

Motorsport Radio was unable to reach Monisha Kaltenborn for comment. We have also reached out to KDC Racing and the Di Comberti family for comment, but none have yet to respond.
