BTCC: MB Motorsport and Motorbase confirm 2021’s joint squad

MB Motorsport have announced the arrival of Ollie Jackson to their 2021 line-up alongside BTCC star Jake Hill.

Kent operation Motorbase Performance have also affirmed their drivers, with Andy Neate partnering Sam Osborne, who makes the switch from Mark Blundell’s team.

The news comes shortly after Sporting Director Blundell, Shaun Hollamby and Pete Osborne agreed to the acquisition of Motorbase, themselves powering the new Ford Focus STs to race wins in its inaugural outing in 2020.

In MB Motorsport’s maiden campaign, Hill spearheaded the team to an impressive six podium finishes, but without a victory. The Tunbridge Wells-born driver further stood out throughout Saturday’s qualifying sessions.

Jackson enjoyed his best season to date in 2020, first clinching bronze honours at the first of two rounds at Brands Hatch before winning twice at Silverstone and Snetterton.

On the contrary, Osborne struggled with the FK2 Honda Civic’s unreliable engine, and Neate, more often than not, found himself at the centre of many controversial collisions.

On the move, MB Motorsport’s latest recruit, Ollie Jackson, said:

“I’m over the moon to be racing with MB Motorsport accelerated by Blue Square this season. Last year was a really memorable one for me and I’m determined to build on that this year. I got on really well with the Ford Focus ST and now have the opportunity to take that success to another level in 2021.“

The opening round of the delayed 2021 BTCC season is scheduled for 8-9 May at Thruxton.
