BTC: Evan Belford successful at Snetterton

Evan Belford wins race two at Snetterton after a dramatic race.

Evan Belford (City Lifting / RS Racing) would start the race on pole position with Amanuel Brinton (Kovara Projects / RS Racing) alongside. Harley McCabe (McCabe Racing) would start in third as he hopes to claim a podium at Snetterton. Conditions were greasy with rain beginning to fall minutes before the start.

At turn one Belford led the way with Brinton ending his race after crashing out at the first corner. Harrison Dessoy (Microlise Cresswell Racing / Eastern Garage) was the next rider to crash out of the race, ending his weekend with a double DNF.

Lucas Brown (Amphibian Scaffolding / SP125 Racing ) was the rider to benefit from this drama, into second position on the second lap. Julian Correa (Microlise Cresswell Racing)  was in behind in third, ahead of Ryan Frost (Talentum Motorsport by Azure Notions). Frost started the race from 11^th position and was confident in the tricky conditions.

All eyes were on the battle for third position which would continue until the closing laps of the race. Correa and Frost battled for the final podium position with Alexander Rowan (Mortimer Racing Victoria House) Academy behind.

Evan Belford continued to lead at the front and built a gap of over one second to Lucas Brown in second. The rain would eventually stop, leaving riders to try and save their tyres until the end of the race.

Scott McPhee (SMP Racing) had an incredible ride, briefly setting the fastest lap of the race and inside the top 10. He was having his own battle further down the field with Alfie Davidson (Banks Racing).

Sullivan Mounsey (Wilson Racing / Maddison Media) struggled in the testing conditions, dropping to 10^th. Harley McCabe also lost positions and would battle for fifth position with Rowan.

Belford once again at Snetterton

At the line, it was Evan Belford who would take the race win by over two seconds from Lucas Brown. Julian Correa claimed the final podium position once again ahead of Ryan Frost in fourth. Harley McCabe rounded out the top five as he managed to hold off Alexander Rowan in sixth.

Rhys Stephenson was in seventh place, finishing ahead of Scott McPhee who had one of his best rides of the year. Davidson was down in ninth, finishing ahead of Sullivan Mounsey who struggled in race two.  

Evan Belford also managed to extend his championship lead to 62 points over Amanuel Brinton. The British Talent Cup will be back in action at Brands Hatch at the end of July, where we await to see who can stop Belford.
