BTC: Evan Belford on pole at British GP weekend

Evan Belford has taken an impressive pole position at Silverstone for the British GP weekend.

Evan Belford is on pole position ahead of Amanuel Brinton at Silverstone after an intense qualifying session. He took the pole position in front of the Grand Prix crowd as the British Talent Cup prepares to race as a support class at the British GP.

Evan Belford (City Lifting / RS Racing) was on pole position after setting a lap time of 2’19.240. Amanuel Brinton (Kovara Projects / RS Racing) was second as he sets his sights on reigniting his rhythm. Brinton is fourth in the Championship after crashing out in Race Two at Brands Hatch.

Sullivan Mounsey (Wilson Racing / Maddison Media) will join Belford and Brinton on the front row of the grid. Mounsey jumped to third in the standings at Brands Hatch after claiming his third race of the season.

Rhys Stephenson (Rocket Racing) will start Race One from fifth position, qualifying ahead of Lucas Brown (Amphibian Scaffolding / SP125 Racing). Brown set a time of 2’20.646 over a second from Belford.

Harley McCabe (McCabe Racing) ended the session in sixth position and continues his consistent form. McCabe is now second in the standings with no wins yet to his tally this season.

The two Microlise Creswell Racing machines of Harrison Dessoy and Julian Correa qualified in seventh and eighth. Both riders have enjoyed their weekend so far with Correa on the main stage on Thursday.

Ryan Frost (Talentum Motorsport by Azure Notions) set just seven laps in qualifying, around the 3.66-mile circuit. Frost is currently seventh in the standings and is yet to claim a podium this year.

Walker rounds out the top 10

Ollie Walker (VisionTrack Racing Team) rounded out the top 10, two seconds from pole position. Walker has improved every session so far this weekend and is eighth in the Championship.  

Filip Surowiak (FS75 / FAB Racing) was just outside the top 10 and was ahead of Harley Mackay (Wilson Racing / HMR). Mackay had visor issues during the day and was given David Munoz’s visor. Munoz will race at Silverstone this weekend in the Moto3 class for BOE Motorsport.

Alfie Davidson (Banks Racing), and Peter Willis (Belfast Chauffeur Hire by WM-Racing) were down in 13^th and 14^th. Josh Bannister (Dunsley Heat Racing) rounded out the top 15 as he aims for a better second half of the season.

Riders will not have to wait long to go back on track with Race One scheduled on Saturday at 17:00.
