BSB: Seeley signs for Tsingtao Racing MV Agusta for Supersport return

North West 200 legend and ex British Supersport champion Alastair Seeley has moved over to the Tsingtao Racing MV Agusta team in the British Supersport category, leaving Sheffield-based GR Motosport’s Stauff Quick Connect Academy after five meetings. Seeley remains the top Kawasaki rider in the National Superstock 1000 class but is back in British Supersport, a class of which he is a fierce competitor in.

The Tsingtao Racing outfit has had a turbulent year so far, having started the season with Joe Francis, before the Chester-based rider departed the team after just two rounds. The team have been absent from Snetterton and Knockhill but make a welcome return to the front of the British Supersport championship, in a bid to challenge leaders Jack Kennedy and Ben Currie.

Seeley said, “It is good to be back in British Supersport on a bike that has already won races as a competitive manufacturer last year. It is a new manufacturer for me and it will be great to spice things up and go for the podiums from the off. I can’t wait to get started and I’d like to thank everyone that has helped this happen. I’d also like to thank GR Motosport for the season so far in the National Superstock 1000 class.”

Team owner Dave Tyson is also pleased to welcome the 24-time British Supersport race winner to the team and looks to see out the season in a positive way. Tyson said,” It is great to sign a real winner for the rest of the year, as we know Alastair is a real competitor in this class and I’m sure he will be at the front. We just need to settle down with him and get him settled in the team and we should have a good end to the year.”
