British GT: Team BRIT announces 2022 entry for Morgan and Trundley

Team BRIT has announced that it will contest the 2022 season of the Intelligent Money British GT Championship with an adapted McLaren 570S GT4.

The entry will be driven by Aaron Morgan and Bobby Trundley.

Team BRIT was formed in 2015 by Dave Player, the founder of KartForce, following years of experience in disability motorsport. Dave suffered a spinal injury in 1991 and ran businesses in in sport, tourism and property before using his experience to design hand controls for karts. This led to the formation of KartForce and laid the foundation to put Team BRIT at the pinnacle of disability motorsport.

Team BRIT intends to run a two-year programme in British GT on its journey towards becoming the first all-disabled entry at the Le Mans 24 Hours.

Trundley and Morgan finished fourth in the 2021 Britcar Endurance Category in the Team BRIT Aston Martin Vantage GT4. With the Aston Martin no longer eligible for British GT, the team has switched to a modified McLaren 570S GT4 fitted with Team BRIT-designed hand controls.

Team BRIT founder Dave Player is delighted to be competing in British GT in 2022.

“This is a milestone moment for our team and something we have worked tirelessly to achieve,” said Player. “Our plans have always been bold, ambitious and beyond belief for many, but we know we will achieve our goal of reaching Le Mans.

“On top of that, we are making changes to motorsport that are crucial for true accessibility.

“Our entry into British GT means we’re racing in the highest level of endurance racing in the UK and the most iconic British Championship. Next year we aim to acquire our GT3 car which we will race in British GT and European Le Mans in 2023 before aiming for Le Mans in 2024.”

The formal entry process for the 2022 Intelligent Money British GT Championship open on December 1 with the opening round scheduled for Oulton Park on April 16 – 18.
