British GT: Foster And Berry Join Optimum Motorsport For 2020

Wakefield-based Optimum Motorsport has announced that Nick Foster and Martin Berry will be joining the team to drive a McLaren 720S GT3 in the 2020 Intelligent Money British GT Championship.

Optimum Motorsport won the 2018 British GT Championship GT3 drivers championship with Flick Haigh and Jonny Adam.

Australian Nick Foster’s racing career began in karts in his native country’s Sprint Kart Championship. The 27-year-old graduated to cars in 2007 and first raced in GT machinery in 2011 when he contested the City Index Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Championship, taking the title in 2015.

Latterly Nick Foster has competed in the Intercontinental GT Challenge with HubAuto Corsa and the Asian Le Mans Series with Eurasia Motorsport.

Fellow Australian Martin Berry has been competing since 2017, winning the Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific title in his first year. In 2019 Berry contested the Am Cup class of Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup with Rinaldi Racing.

Both Foster and Berry are excited at the prospect of competing in one of the UK’s premier GT championships.

The 2020 British GT Championship season get underway at Oulton Park over the Easter weekend of April 11 – 13.
