BREAKING: Alex Rins moves to Yamaha for 2024

Alex Rins will switch to Yamaha next season and will replace Franco Morbidelli.

Alex Rins will leave LCR Honda at the end of the 2023 season and will join the Monster Energy Yamaha team. Rins will leave LCR Honda after just one year with the team and the Japanese manufacturer.

The Spaniard is currently 13^th in the standings and is currently the top Honda rider. His best result came in America with an unexpected race win at COTA for the LCR Honda rider. Since then, Rins has struggled with injuries and is unable to return at Silverstone after a five-week break.

Rins crashed at the 2023 Italian GP Sprint and had to undergo two surgeries and is working hard to make a full recovery.

Alex Rins moved to LCR Honda in 2023 after previously racing for Suzuki – joining them in 2017. In 2022 Suzuki announced they would withdraw from MotoGP at the end of the season. This intern made Rins move to LCR Honda and his teammate, Joan Mir to Repsol Honda.

He already has experience with two other MotoGP manufacturers and has ridden bikes with similar characteristics to the YZR-M1, which should help him adapt quickly to our bike. His win in COTA earlier this year underlines his speed, hunger, and determination to succeed.

“Alex has been away from the MotoGP paddock for a while due to the injury he sustained at Mugello, but we are confident that he should be fully recovered and up to speed for the 2024 season. 

“We are really looking forward to working with him and believe that he will collaborate well with Fabio and enhance the total performance of the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team.”
