BSB: Jason O’Halloran: “best weekend of my career” after Thruxton triple

Jason O’Halloran completes the triple at Thruxton as he rounds off a near-perfect weekend.

Jason O’Halloran had a great weekend at Thruxton, claiming all three race wins and reigniting his Championship charge. O’Halloran continues Yamaha’s dominance at Thruxton and heads into Cadwell Park with confidence.

Speaking about the weekend O’Halloran said: “That’s the best weekend of my career, coming off the back of a couple of average rounds to bounce back like this is exactly what we needed. We’ve clawed a lot of points back this weekend with pole position and three race wins which is incredible.

Jason O’Halloran is now Yamaha’s most successful rider in British Superbike history, after claiming his 26^th win. He also continues his dominance at Thruxton taking his eighth win at the circuit in the last three years.

O’Halloran looked incredibly strong in all three races at Thruxton, saving his tyre until the end of the race. He won race three by just two-tenths of a second, ahead of Lee Jackson and Charlie Nesbitt.

“I’m now Yamaha’s most successful rider in terms of race wins and have 26 BSB wins which is just incredible. And I’ve won eight of the last nine races at Thruxton which is another amazing stat!

These results have now allowed the Australian into third position after seven rounds of the British Superbike Championship. O’Halloran is just 50.5 points from the Championship leader, Tommy Bridewell who struggled this weekend.

“This is exactly what the team needed, and I think we can carry this momentum forward now to Cadwell Park which is my favourite race of the year.”

The MCAMS Yamaha team has now been promoted to fourth position in the standings, ahead of FHO Racing. The team has changed riders throughout the season with Tim Neave taking a step back from racing.

Team Principal,  Steve Rodgers will also be taking a step back from motorcycle racing after the 2023 season. The Raceways Motorcycles team will leave the Championship after seven years of being the official Yamaha Motor UK team.

Speaking briefly about the success weekend, Steve Rodgers said: “It’s been an incredible weekend and with our rivals suffering, we’ve really clawed our way back up the championship standings. There’s still a long way to go, but it’s game on!”
