Moto2: Carlos Tatay to stand in for Rory Skinner

Rory Skinner will miss the next two Moto2 rounds after suffering a fracture to his right foot.

Moto2 rookie Rory Skinner will miss the next two rounds of the. Moto2 World Championship after suffering from a fracture in his right foot. He will be replaced by Carlos Tatay for the next two rounds.

Rory Skinner has fractured his talus bone in his right foot, after a crash in Mugello during the sixth round. This injury made Skinner unfit to ride for the rest of the weekend, making Skinner a DNS.

Carlos Tatay will replace Skinner this weekend in German and next weekend at Assen and his high hopes. Tatay is currently racing for the SAG Racing team, racing in the Moto2 European Championship.

Tatay is currently second in the Moto2 European Championship, 30 points behind Senna Agius. So far this season Tatay has been impressive, taking three podiums, one race win, and one pole position.

Rory Skinner moved to Moto2 this season, after spending two years in British Superbikes, racing for FS3 Kawasaki. He joins the American Racing Team, whom he first wildcarded with last season. So far this year, Skinner’s best result was 19^th at the Circuit of the Americas, showing potential.

In a statement, the American Racing Team said: “Rory Skinner will miss the next two races after subsequent scans in Italy revealed a fracture to the talus bone in his right foot. 

“Carlos Tatay will stand in for Rory while he recovers with the aim of returning for his home round at Silverstone. Go and send Rory all your support for a speedy recovery and join us in welcoming the European Moto2 JuniorGP race winner to the team! 

“Massive thanks to SAG Racing Team for loaning him to us! We’ll take good care of him.”

Skinner added: “Unfortunately, after getting further scans in Italy yesterday it was found that I’d sustained a fracture to my Talus bone in my right foot.  Now it’s time to heal up and be back for the British GP!”
