Seeley’s season saved by Stauff Quick Connect Academy and GR Motosport

After nearly being left without a ride in the British Superbike paddock, Brent Gladwin’s GR Motosport Stauff Quick Connect Academy has saved Alastair Seeley’s season, as the Ulsterman and NW200 specialist joins the Sheffield-based squad, replacing the recently-promoted Mason Law.

The Carrickfergus rider returns to a class which he won the championship, back in 2009. Seeley was runner-up in the championship in 2015 and was runner-up in 2014 in the British Supersport class. Last season, the Stauff Quick Connect Academy secured one win with Mason Law, at Oulton Park, on their way to 6th overall in the National Superstock 1000 championship.

“I am very happy to be joining Team WD-40 / STAUFF Quick Connect Academy onboard the Kawasaki ZX10RR for another go at the Superstock 1000 Championship that I won in 2009 & runner up in 2015,” began the popular Ulsterman.

“A new team and crew is an exciting prospect and one I can’t wait to get involved with. The bike proved itself last year with a win and a lap record and with more performance for 2018 and a determined flyweight rider like myself on-board, things are looking good.

“I had a great time meeting the guys at STAUFF Ireland in Lisburn last week; its good to have these guys behind our race effort. I hope to get testing underway in the next few weeks at UK tracks to familiarise ourselves with current temperatures & things that resemble what we could be faced with at Round 1 come Easter weekend.

Brent Gladwin, team owner, was just as joyous and jubilant having signed a rider of Alastair’s quality. He said, “Signing Alastair for the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 is a great move for GR and the Stauff Quick Connect Academy,” he began.

“The Wee Wizard has not only won the championship before but has won races in just about every BSB Class. I personally and also the whole team are looking forward to having Alastair race with us and we are looking forward to repeating past successes – this time together.”

The first round of the season gets underway at Donington Park, from the 31st March to the 2nd of April.
