Supersport: Krummenacher leads pack of Yamahas in Supersport test

Ex-Grand Prix star and World Supersport race winner Randy Krummenacher put the Bardahl Evans Bros Racing Yamaha on top of the World Supersport classification after two days of testing, toppling Lucas Mahias who was quicker on day one.

Reigning world champion Lucas Mahias out his factory-supported Yamaha in 2nd and was marginally beaten to the top by just under 0.05s. The Frenchman put in over 70 laps across the two days.

Mahias’ team-mate and race winner from the Thai round in 2017, Federico Caricasulo, had a tough second day, unable to set a time in the final session. Despite this, he ended up third position overall, with a lap time of 1.33.643.

2012 Moto3 champion and newcomer to the Supersport grid, Sandro Cortese sat in fourth position overall as he is already impressing in the WorldSSP class, clearly getting to grips with the Kallio Racing YZF-R6. Home hero Anthony West was fifth overall, as he looks to shine at home.

Luke Stapleford was an impressive 6th, with Rafaele De Rosa 7th, ahead of 2017 runner-up, Kenan Sofouglu, Frenchman Jules Cluzel for Nerds Racing and Hikari Okubo, with the Japanese rider completing the top 10.

Nikki Tuuli was 11th but improving on race pace, with Mike Di Meglio, Kyle Smith, Ayrton Badovini and Stefan Hill completing the top 15.
