Remembering… The 2011 British Superbike Championship Finale!

The 2016 British Superbike Championship comes to a close this weekend and it’s set for a dramatic conclusion, with BeWiser Ducati’s Shakey Byrne and JG Speedfit Kawasaki’s Leon Haslam both in with a chance of clinching the crown. It’s the former though with the upper hand going into the races, with 633 points compared to Haslam’s 616.

Whilst it could mathematically go to the final race of the weekend at Brands Hatch, it’s 2011 where we perhaps saw one of the best battles for the championship in recent motorcycle racing history. John Hopkins and Tommy Hill endured a season-long battle that went down to the final corner of the final race of the season with the two separated by just 0.006 of a second!

The final two laps of that very race will go down as some of the very best for many years to come, likewise with the commentary from British Eurosport’s Jack Burnicle and James Whitham. So, let’s re-live it!
