Pol Espargaro gave KTM Racing their first points of the 2018 season in the MotoGP class, with an 11th place finish in a chaotic Argentine GP. The Spaniard also got his first points since the Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang last year.
“You always want more but overall after the crazy situation with the rain and the delayed start procedure – and to finish eleventh is still not our wish or place – but I think we did OK,” began the ex Moto2 champion, who achieved four top-10 finishes for KTM last year.
“At the moment when grip is low we struggle a bit more than the rest so it hasn’t been an easy weekend in the dry. I think 11th is not a bad result but we want more and we need to improve our bike to be where we want to be and we have a long way to go. But we will work hard and now look to Austin.”
Neither KTM was able to score points in the Americas GP last year, whilst Espargaro was 7th in 2016 for the Tech 3 Yamaha team. Espargaro’s best result at the COTA track was a 6th in 2014, his debut MotoGP year.
