Motorsport Radio announces two news editors
Motorsport Radio is proud to reveal that it has recruited two more members to its editorial team, with Connor Jackson and Kiko Giles joining as Lead Editor and Bike Editor respectively.
Both Jackson and Giles will join Motorsport Media owner Lester Forbes and marketing expert Dan Marr for the 2018 season, having already contributed with content throughout 2017.
The pair have a rich history in motorsport journalism, with Jackson having been a regular contributor with thecheckeredflag.co.uk since early 2015. More recently, he has appeared as a guest on Motorsport Radio’s ‘Monday Motorsport’.
He has previously been a podcast host with the Slipstream Network on the ‘Final Stint Podcast’ and has been a regular in the British GT and BRDC British F3 paddocks. He is one of the top British voices on junior single-seater categories and drivers and will continue to give his input on young talents in the UK and abroad.
Giles has also enjoyed a fruitful career to date, having been a face around the British Superbike paddock for the last two seasons, interviewing stars such as Josh Brookes and Shane Byrne, whilst also establishing a good working relationship with various team owners, mechanics and riders across all classes.
Kiko was also editor of the ‘CrewOnTwo’ section of The PitCrew Online.net, where he first started his career in media. He has since been a regular contributor to Motorsport Radio’s ‘The Superbike Show’, where he was instrumental in reviving the show, which has consistently reached thousands of people weekly.
Jackson stated: “I am so pleased to announce this new stage in my journalistic career. I have been working closely with Lester the last year and I’m delighted to move into this new role with him and Motorsport Radio. It’s a very close-knit team at MSR and I look forward to working more with them and fellow editor Kiko.”
Giles added: “I’m honoured to be part of one of the fastest growing motorsport sites in the industry. I feel like I have made a great step in my career and that Motorsport Radio can be my place to shine further. I can’t wait to start the hard work through the season, working alongside Lester, Connor and Dan. I’d also like to add a big thank you for the past three years to The PitCrew Online, who have allowed me to be part of their team.”
Over the course of the season, Giles will focus on covering the British Superbike Championship, World Superbikes and MotoGP, returning as Motorsport Radio’s authority on all things two wheels. Jackson will take a similar role in single-seaters, including British F3, F4 and other international coverage. Both will also be helping develop the current team of journalists and potential future contributors.
Motorsport Radio Founder Forbes concluded, saying; “I am delighted to be bringing on two young, strong journalists to help guide our editorial content further. The Motorsport Radio brand has grown massively in the last year and under the leadership of Connor and Kiko, our content will only go from strength to strength. I have alway been keen to utilise the very best talent and with their years of experience, industry connections and popularity on social media, they are perfect to help Motorsport Radio cover more than ever before.”
